Last night after dinner while we were waiting for the kids to finish eating, Pat was playing around with the various things on our dining room table. You know, the normal stuff - a pen, a rubber band, a bottle of ear drops. Carly was watching him very closely and her eyes grew very wide when he stood the pen up on end and balanced the bottle of ear drops on top. "Wow" she told him. "You are magic, Daddy. Perfectly magic."
Leo had a rough evening. We are trying to figure out if it is just teething (those 4 eye teeth are taking forever) or if he has the cold/virus his sister had last week or if he has an ear infection (hence the ear drops). But everything just makes him cry. And he has never been much of a cryer. When I got home last night, he was standing by the door crying. When I went over to the neighbors to pick up his sister, he stood by the door crying. Whenever he was told no, he cried. Open mouth, red face, big tear crying. But just when you start to feel sorry for the sad little boy, he snaps out of it, shoots you his devilish grin, smacks his sister and giggles. Perfectly magic.
